Getting paid online, especially across borders, can be a nerve-wracking experience. Security breaches, fraud, and lost funds are all too real concerns. But what if there was a way to get paid securely and easily, no matter where you or your clients are located?
Enter Deel.
With billions in processed salary payments, Deel offers a safe environment for you to manage your client payments, compliance documentation, expenses, and more through robust security measures. Ditch the anxiety and enter a world of secure online transactions with Deel.
How Deel protects your account
Before you withdraw money from your account for the first time, you’ll need to verify your account.
This is because Deel works directly with banks and a variety of popular payment providers, and we want to ensure your protection and reduce risk. For this purpose, you need to upload a selfie and a government-issued ID to your account.
The platform also uses 2-factor authentication (2FA) via an authenticator app, which gives your account the highest level of security. This feature will require you to enter a code from the authenticator app on your smartphone to log in, as well as to confirm a transaction.
You can download any authenticator app like Google Authenticator, Authy, or Microsoft Authenticator from the App Store or Google Play.
An authenticator app will generate a unique code every 30 seconds. It is twice as secure as sending a code via SMS.
For trusted devices, you can choose to skip 2FA for seven days.
Read a more detailed guide to setting up 2FA for your Deel account.
How we protect your data
Protecting our customer data is something we take very seriously. This is why our team is working hard to ensure we meet the criteria of all renowned security certifications out there.
- We are GDPR-compliant, a commitment to secure sensitive data under the highest standards mandated by the GDPR. We adhere rigorously to all requisite frameworks, policies, and processes
- Deel’s infrastructure is built around being SOC (1, 2, and 3) compliant, which are international standards for data security. We undergo regular annual third-party audits to ensure the security of our platform and infrastructure
- Our information security program is built on the globally recognized framework, ISO 27001, a security management standard that specifies best practices and comprehensive security controls, for which we get re-certification on an annual basis
- Our Security Operations team regularly assesses system security measures and monitor transactions and logins for fraud and unauthorized logins
There are also small tweaks we implement every day to improve your experience on our platform. For example, you may hesitate to share your screen with a coworker or work from a shared or public space because your salary is revealed on your Deel account homepage.
To address this, we recently added a feature that allows you to protect sensitive data in your profile: you can hide financial information from the Deel homepage (and other pages) by simply clicking on the eye icon you’ll find in the top left corner. If you want to enable this feature every time you log into the platform, go to Account Settings > Security.
How we protect your money
Other than asking you to enter a code from your authenticator app to confirm every transaction, Deel works with banks to ensure every payment is processed securely.
For example, sometimes a withdrawal may get flagged for additional screening. This means your bank is going to run additional security checks before the money is put into your account. It can be frustrating to experience such a delay in receiving a payment, but it’s a process that protects you from fraud. This screening may be the result of unusual activity, a discrepancy between your Deel billing address and banking address connected to your account, or issues related to the name on your account or transfer.
If you use the Deel Card, it can be declined for security reasons. In these cases, either Deel or the card issuer can reserve the right not to process a transaction under the suspicion of a security breach.
The Billing feature for Deel allows you to securely store your card details, pay for services or subscriptions, choose from a range of pricing plans, and store and view invoices for one-off and recurring payments. Deel can also generate and store invoices for both one-off and recurring payments.
Manage your transactions securely with Deel
We aim to make cross-border payments simple, fast, and, above all, secure.
Deel has implemented numerous security measures to protect your personal information and your money from any fraudulent activity and security risks, and keeps improving the security system every day so that you can have peace of mind while doing your best work with your clients.
Sign up for Deel today and rest assured your online security is in the best hands.
