Overtime Pay & Maximum Hours

Standard working hours are 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week. The standard work week is from Monday to Friday.
Overtime payment is mandatory. Hours outside of standard work hours, as well as working on a rest day or public holiday are considered overtime. Overtime work must be paid no less than double the salary of an employee.
Overtime work may be compensated with additional rest time corresponding to the amount of time worked overtime instead of increased pay. In this case, overtime work is compensated at a regular rate, and the time off is not subject to payment.
Work performed beyond the employee’s regular working hours must be pre-authorized by the employer.
