The struggle of global SaaS businesses before Deel

Delacour recognized that she might not find all of the expert talents she needed in her home country, so she began to look to other countries to fill positions. However, remote work wasn’t an option at the time, and relocating an employee from another country would be a near impossible endeavor requiring a lot of energy, time, and money for both Delacour and candidates.
She wanted to hire someone from Kazakhstan who was an excellent fit for the company. But because of bureaucracy and the pains of tax administration and relocation, she couldn’t hire them.

When Sweep was founded during the 2020 lockdown, they needed to start a remote international team from scratch, as the problem they solve is global. Delacour thought this would be a massive challenge in terms of time, money, and resources. Sweep uses Deel EOR and Deel Contractor Management to hire both employees and contractors and loves how easy it is to use the platform. Delacour remembers how only a few years ago that anytime she wanted to recruit a team in the United Kingdom or the United States, she had to consider setting up a subsidiary with an accountant, lawyers, bank account, local GM, and more. Now she doesn’t have to worry about any of those things. She can start hiring in those countries in just a few clicks to test the business strategy locally before setting up any subsidiary.
